Liberation Day
On May 5th, Amstelveen celebrates Liberation Day with a day full of activities to commemorate freedom. Join us in commemorating the end of WWII and Dutch liberation from German occupation. The Oude Dorp and its surroundings host a vibrant program of festivities suitable for all ages.
The Progra:
The Oude Dorp transforms into a cozy event area with a stage & terrace.
- 2:30 PM Workshop: Personalise your freedom apron
- 3:00 PM Cake baking contest
- 3:00 PM Opening - warm-up music
- 4:00 PM Salsa Flamenco Group
- 5:15 PM Zingende Kapsters
- 6:00 PM End of afternoon program

- 7:00 PM Freedom Lecture by Natascha van Weezel, "Freedom or Peace," at Museum Jan
- 7:30 PM Start of evening program
- 7:35 PM Arrival of the liberation flame by runners from the Startbaan Athletics Club
